Where I'm FromWhere I’m from
Our Mamas raised us right, To wash our hands before supper, Eat all our dinner, And read the Bible at night. Where I’m from We work hard for what we’ve got, Getting an extra job to put dinner on the table, And when you get home at night, An extra hug and a “I love you.” I’m from backroads and trucks, From church on Sunday mornings. From good ol’ family dinners, And Mama staying home to raise the kids. From where the only way to live Is through God and country music. I’m from where Family is everything, People stick together, And a promise is a promise. I’m from where When the times get hard, Work harder and pray like crazy. Where I’m from, Life is simple. It isn’t always perfect, But life is good. |
