his parents shouted in his ear. He picked up his sack and headed back. “Why do I have to stay?” he asked in dismay. “Because you are still small and can only crawl. His things in tow, He knew he was about to grow He hung from a twig. “Wow, I’m gonna be so big! I’ll be able to fly away, and I won’t have to stay!” As he was hoping, the cocoon began to open. He started to fall down and disappears his frown Carl flapped his new wings and started to sing, “I’m free! I’m free! YIPPEE!!!” He flew past a flower and a tree that used to tower. “Look at me go!” Flying high and low. He flew over a lamb, going as far as he can. Down below something popped and Carl stopped. Frightened he tried to hide Down a branch a squirrel glide. “Oh my!” Carl sighs. He begins to get homesick so he lands on a stick. He wants to go home and not be so alone. He turns around, now homeward bound. Home is where he stays for the rest of his days. Home is where love is. |
